2012 Lincoln County Fair
The Lincoln County Fair dates have been set for Wednesday, July 18th thru Sunday, July 22nd. Please visit the Lincoln County Fair Website at www.lincolncofair.com for the most up to date information as it becomes available.
Upcoming Changes to the Lincoln County Fair in 2012 and Beyond
The Lincoln County Fair Association is now its own entity and soley responsible for the operation of the county fair. The current fair board has been working hard to continue the time held traditions of the county fair that has been in our community for the last 124 years. In 2013 the fair will be celebrating its 125th anniversary.
There are several changes that will be taking place this year at the fair with respect to the fair entry process. The fair is transitioning into an online process for fair entries and eventually commercial space. The reason for the change to the entry process is the obvious cost savings and the ease of individuals that want to enter at the fair. In 2013, the fair anticipates that it will be set up to take on-line entries. For 2012, these are the changes that will take place for exhibiting at the fair:
- The 2012 Fair Exhibitors’ Handbook will be available in limited hard quantities only. Copies will be available at the UW Extension Office, T.B. Scott Public Library, and each Department Chair and Club Leader will receive a copy. The Handbook will be available on line at the new fair website (www.lincolncofair.com) by May 1st. The handbook will be in PDF format, and can be printed off entirely, or just the sections you are interested in exhibiting in. It is suggested that you print only what you need.
- Entry forms will also be available at the UW Extension Office (3 Part Carbonless Forms) until the supply runs out. The form will also be available on line to print off by May 1st. If you choose to print the form off of the website, you will need to make sure to keep a copy for yourself.
- Entry forms still need to be postmarked or dropped off at the UW-Extension office on or by the Friday, June 15, 2012 deadline. There are no exceptions to this rule for 2012. If you are planning on exhibiting, please make sure to get your entries into UW Extension by this date. The online entry process is slated to begin with the 2013 fair.
- Each year, as with every handbook, there are always changes to the departments, general information, judging times, etc. Please be sure to review these sections to keep current on what’s happening at the fair this year.
- If you have questions on the new entry process or any questions on the handbook, please do not hesitate to contact Gloria Lukes at 715-539-3038, or Fair Board President, Mark Duley at 715-539-8298.
The Lincoln County Fair thanks you for your continued support and look forward to carrying on the fair in the community.
Livestock Premise Identification Information for County Fair
Exhibitors who are planning to bring animals to this year’s Lincoln County Fair will again be required to provide a copy of their Livestock Premise Id. This applies to animals exhibited in the Dairy, Beef, Swine, Sheep, Goats, Horse, Poultry and Exotic Animals Departments. To help in streamlining the process on entry day of the fair, the Fair Board has decided to collect copies of Livestock Premise Identification cards when exhibitors submit their Fair Entry form by the June 15th deadline. For more information about Livestock Premise Registration go to the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection website at http://datcp.wi.gov/Animals/Premises_Registration/index.aspx
